WASTING AWAY IN GOLDEN RETRIEVER-VILLE!
The staff of Hollywood Frame Gallery and artist Jim Tweedy are welcoming summer with a smile as they slip on their flip flops and cruise on down to “Golden Retriever-Ville” aka Hollywood Frame Gallery (2427 Bissonnet, 713.942.8885). Golden Beginnings Golden Retriever Rescue (GBGRR) benefit will take place on Saturday, June 13, from 6-9pm and Gallery owners Kathleen and Ricky Connaughton will host this Jimmy Buffet-themed “Beach Party and Bow Wow Luau!” to benefit Golden Beginnings Golden Retriever Rescue, celebrating their 10th anniversary this year. There is no charge and all are welcome.
The scrumptious tropical food will be courtesy of Bayou City Seafood and there will be plenty of drinks, prizes, fun and games for all the surfer dudes and dudettes! The highlight of the evening will be an auction for Jim Tweedy’s “Golden Retrieverville,” an original, commissioned artwork to benefit GBGRR. Raffle items include a flat-screened tv, Bose headphones, a fishing trip, a custom-framed print of “Golden Retrieverville” and more. Parrot-head sightings guaranteed!
Says Joanie Patrick of GBGRR: “Golden Beginnings is thrilled to continue our partnership with Hollywood Frame Gallery, and “Golden Retriever-Ville” promises to be the best party yet! Thanks as always to our GOLDEN friends, Kathleen and Ricky Connaughton, the amazing artist Jim Tweedy, and Chris Mannery of Bayou City Seafood!”
